Kickboxing not selected
for Los Angeles 2028 Olympics
Kickboxing has been shortlisted for nine new sports
being considered for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles alongside American football (non-contact American football),
karate, baseball, softball, lacrosse, wild dancing, squash, motorsports and cricket.Five sports will be shortlisted,

.The IOC’s decision only guarantees their inclusion in the 2028 Summer Games
it does not give these sports a permanent place on the Olympic programme.The fact that Kickboxing has made
the shortlist is to be commended and WAKO is to be congratulated on a courageous effort
Squash is a racket sport that many consider mainstream, a sport with a 150-year history that has finally earned a place in the Summer Olympics after 40 years of trying
Kickboxing may have a long way to go,
but if it is selected, it will raise the profile of the sport for all participants
